Definitely agree on Speranza and Resonant. I'm beginning to think my non-bingo challenge for September is to take a trip down memory lane with some of my older favorite authors that I haven't read in awhile - Speranza, Resonant, Orithain, Astolat,...

TBH, you've described exactly why, beyond my Squee peeps, I don't interact much with fandom beyond reading and claiming I'm going to start writing again. Between fans behaving badly and actors behaving badly I just couldn't anymore. I can generally separate RL behavior from the shows/movies I enjoy but it still taints the enjoyment. So it might be sticking my head in the sand but I'd rather just not know.

I hear you on the unreadability of some fics. There's definitely some I've come across that made me go all head tilty and "I don't think that word means what you think it means" or "For pete's sake, grammar is a thing. Learn it and love it, people." LOL Granted, that's not just 9-1-1 either. I've come across some real doozies in Teen Wolf and is, admittedly, part of why I now have a Review field in my Calibre library so I can make note of just how bad the writing is in a fic and don't keep trying to reread it.

I can make some recs from what I've read so far. It'll be pretty much all Buck/Eddie because, while Lonestar has grown on me, Buddie is pretty much my OTP for this fandom.
First, if you click on the tinyurl near the top it takes you to a Google Sheet with all of the stories I've read so far this year. No links but anything in Green is a favorite and anything from 9-1-1 is on AO3 except for stuff by Keira Marcos or Jilly James. Those are on their personal sites.
Second, authors I've read a variety of works from and can recommend:
asherly89
lullatone
sparkinthehazelcoffee1998 - particularly the Scene From series
tabbytabbytabby
elisela*
transbuck*
*these two are decent but can be a little uneven in their writing.
Third, individual story recs:
Left Unsaid by Clockwork_Mockingbird - I cannot recommend this story enough. I just absolutely adore it. Post-lawsuit, it focuses largely on getting Buck the recognition he deserves for the lives he saved during the tsunami but it's also a getting together fic for him and Eddie.
The Space Between Sleep by Tattered Dreams - post-tsunami and ignores the lawsuit. This is an absolutely gorgeous story from Eddie's POV as he struggles to help Christopher and Buck through the aftermath of the tsunami and how they eventually become a family.
Everyday Kind of Love by Keira Marcos - this is pretty much my head canon for getting rid of Ana and getting Buck and Eddie together.
Don't Take My Sunshine Away by SevenSoulmates - largely Buck & Christopher centric because Eddie is in a coma for at least the first half of the story. Just lots of family feels and fluffy goodness.
A New Family by Angelwithwingsoffire - this is a 9-1-1/Lonestar crossover in which Buck and TK have known each other since college and after the events of the lawsuit, right when Lonestar starts, TK offers Buck a job at the 126 and he takes it. It's an interesting retelling of Lonestar season 1 with Buck in the mix as well eventual reconciliations with the 118.
